Dr Antony Bedggood MBChB FRANZCO
Dr
Bedggood is a subspecialty
trained Paediatric Ophthalmologist and Strabismus Surgeon, an
experienced Cataract surgeon, and has wide experience in the current treatment of all common eye problems.
- Graduated Otago School of Medicine 1996 & completed his training as an Eye Specialist in 2005.
- Undertook sub-specialty training in Paediatric Ophthalmology at the Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane, Australia, with a special interest in treatment of childhood Strabismus, cataract, and childhood retinal diseases.
- Is employed as a Paediatric and General Ophthalmologist at the Christchurch department of Ophthalmology, and as a frequent visiting specialist at Kew hospital for Southland.

Cataract surgery is an area of expertise for Dr Bedggood, both in adults and children. He uses a clear corneal small incision & sutureless procedure, as day surgery and under local anaesthetic in adults.
